Immunization Record

Copy of Student’s Immunization Record - An application remains incomplete without the submission of the most recent immunization record. For students new to Santa Clara County, a current TB risk assessment form or TB test is required.

Students entering the school must show proof of the following immunizations:

The most recent achievement test needs to be submitted, even if it is over one year old.

For students applying to the First through Fifth grade, VCES requires copies of the student’s report cards for the current school year and the previous year.  Kindergarten applicants are required to provide a Pre-K progress report.

Entrance Assessment

An application for Priority Consideration is not complete without the entrance assessment.  Once you receive the entrance assessment scheduler, please select a time that works for you.  There is no charge for this testing beyond the $70 application fee.  All entrance assessments are administered by our teachers individually or in a group setting.

Typical entrance assessment time frames:

Kindergarten - 30-45 minutes

First Grade - 30-45 minutes

Second - Fifth grade - 60 minutes

Educator's Recommendation Form

The Educator's Recommendation Form must be completed by the student's current teacher or previous year's classroom teacher.

Note: Since completing and submitting recommendations takes time from busy professionals (who often have other recommendations to write), parents are encouraged to request the recommendation at least 2-3 weeks before the application deadline.  You may want to follow up with the teacher to make sure that the recommendation was completed.  The application remains incomplete until the recommendation is received.

Clergy Recommendation Form

Clergy Recommendation Form or Parent/Guardian’s Statement (submit online) – The Clergy Recommendation, if available, is preferred over the Parent/Guardian Statement. This recommendation may be completed by a pastor, priest, current Sunday school teacher, or church leader who is involved in the applicant’s spiritual development. If a clergy recommendation is not available, families should submit the Parent/Guardian Statement.

Note: Since completing and submitting recommendations takes time from busy professionals (who often have other recommendations to write), parents are encouraged to request the recommendation at least 2-3 weeks before the application deadline. You may want to follow up with the church leader to make sure that the recommendation was completed. The application remains incomplete until the recommendation is received.
