Dear future Valley Christian Lacrosse Families,
We are excited to welcome you to the inaugural Men’s Lacrosse season at Valley Christian High School! We feel that God has specifically prepared us to storm onto the lacrosse scene in 2020, and we cannot wait to see what He has in store for our program.
Please read this document carefully as it contains important information and dates for the upcoming season. If you have any questions after reading this in its entirety, please call the VCHS Athletic Office at (408) 513-2455.
A complete Physical Examination Form must be submitted to the Athletic Office in order for any athlete to participate in any sport at Valley Christian High School. Sports physicals are kept on file for one (1) calendar year and must be valid through the entire season of sport (i.e. we do not accept physicals that expire mid-season). Players will not be able to participate in practice until they have turned in a completed physical form.
All Valley Christian lacrosse players will be responsible for buying a “spirit pack,” which will include items like sweatshirts, team shirts, backpacks, etc. In the coming days, all lacrosse players and families will receive a link to an online BSN Store wherein the spirit pack items can be purchased. While some of these items are mandatory, the store will also include optional items for purchase. For parents seeking to purchase fan wear or for players who just want to buy extras, the BSN Store is the place to go. While it is not open yet, the store will only be open for a limited time, so please be ready to place to your order before the window closes.
Players will be responsible to bring their own equipment to practice. Below is a list of lacrosse equipment everyone should bring each day, along with links to suggested products/websites for beginning lacrosse players. Of course, sporting goods stores should also have this equipment.
- Helmet (will be supplied by VC for optional purchase)
- Shoulder pads
- Elbow guards
- Gloves (will be supplied by VC for purchase)
- Lacrosse Cleats (football cleats are OK too)
- Lacrosse Stick (be sure to get a long pole if you want to play defense)
- A spiral-bound notebook: Since most of us will be new to the sport, a lot of our early season will be spent in the classroom learning the sport.
Important Dates (Mark your calendar!)
